I'll be picking up 2 Baryancistrus beggini this week, and I was wondering if they'd work in one of my current setups.
It's a 300L tank planted tank with several red moor pieces, a bunch of 10-20ish cms smooth rocks with a mix of gravel and soil substrate. Using a tetratech x1200 external filter, and temp is usually pretty constant around 24-26, though it can get up to 29-30 during summer. Haven't really been testing the parameters for uhm years, it's been up and running for around 9 years now, with few problems (had a group of tetras a couple years back who all got ill and sadly passed away fairly rapidly. No idea what it was, but only affected said tetras). Got pretty soft water, but pH in the tanks doesn't seem to go below 7.2 or so.
Current inhabitants are;
1 "clown pleco" (sold as such, but not 100% sure, colour and pattern seems different.)
4 Whiptail catfish (believe it's Hemilocaria parva)
3 old Kryptopterus vitreolus
1 old "Borneo sucker"
8 Five-banded barbs
and 8 amano shrimps
If not I've got an empty smaller tank at around 100L they could get, but figured bigger and older is better
