Today I saw someone had diffrent kinds of variations in L333,
but I can't find any pictures or information about it.
I've read about:
L333 "Porta (do) Moz"
L333 "Xingu"
L333 "Boda Seda"
L333 ''Alenquer"
I've only seen pictures of the "Alenquer" version:
Can someone tell me more about the Porta (do) Moz, Xingu and Boda Seda?
The fish pictured is the xingu variant, which seems to be the most common. Boda seda has thinner yellow lines and porta moz has very wide and bright yellow lines. It's similar to l177, l18, and l81 gold nuggets - the fish are differentiated by the quality and size of the yellow markings. They get the names because of the location of their capture, or at least the location of their export/distribution. I personally believe alenquer to be a separate species and the three yellow versions to be color variants of the same species. Others will disagree, however. There are also likely other variants that get lumped with one of the three aforentioned variants.

I'm working with alenquer and boda seda, and growing out a group of porta moz. Only the alenquers have spawned so far for me but the boda seda seem close. I haven't picked up any xingus since they look very close to the boda seda and I only have so much space.
Interests: Fish of all types but mostly Loricariidae, Callichthyidae and Auchenipteridae. My awesome dogs and walking through nature and taking pictures.
I am very confussed when it comes to L333 species. I've got a group with is constantly developing in all kinds of patterns. The last ID I asked was about this guy and seemed to be called L333 fine line Is this again something else than the ones mentioned above???
To my understanding, 333 is only found at porto de moz and around, if slightly outside the belo monte area. IME, fish labeled alenquer always turn out to be 401. I've never even heard of a locality with the name boda seda.
I'll get pics of my boda seda in the next couple days. They have slightly thinner lines than other strains of 333 but otherwise look the same. Whether they're actually from boda seda, I don't know, but they're definitely different than other strains.
