Hypancistrus cf inspector

Post by Yann »

Hi!

I just received the Datz newsletter!
Inside it I found this:
L339
A new Hypancistrus species, higly similar to Hypancistrus inspector
It was caught near an indian village called Minicia, about half a "boothour" from the city of San Fernando de Atabapo on the Rio Orinoco

Young speciemens can not be tell apart but adult L339 have smaller spots and are also numerous. They also seems to have a different number of teeth in the mandibulla ( upper or lower???) with L339 having 5-7 and H. inspector having between 10-15

Shane, does this description correspond by any chance at the fish labelled as Hypancistrus cf inspector...

Regarding me I highly think that it is the fish in question....

Cheers
Yann
