this was sold to me as Corydoras melanotaenia and was wondering if that indeed was what i just bought..

It's too deep-bodied to be melanotaenia.

here is a better pic with a side profile of them.. it's fins are so darn yellow.. and the snout is alot longer then i remember on aeneus.

does anyone know what these are??? there are around 2.5" as well if that helps any

aeneus type. To me it looks like one of my aneaus, There is so much colour variation within the aeneus group. I agree that although the yellow on the fins it isnt a melanotaenia. Sorry if this isnt what you were hoping and I maybe wrong .

ya.. i know aeneus come in many colors.. just the long snout on these fish is what was throwing me off as this is way longer then any aeneus i have kept or am keeping at the moment.

was waiting to see if Ian would come and lend a hand at the ID of these guys

Just to let all you guys know I will away from my computer from Thursday (18th) morning untill Wednesday (23rd). I will be taking my lap top, but am not sure what access I will have. I am going to the Canadian Association of Aquarium Clubs convention in London, Toronto, where I will be talking Corys and judging catfish.

thanks Dave... i forgot he told me he would be there this week.. guess i can wait a few more days until he returns to help with the ID
