Re: L165 Sailfin Plec,maybe problems?
IMO, its hard to treat when you dont know what your dealing with. I have a gorgeous "shamper green" Royal pleco (L191), When I first aquired him he had the same whitish/clear streaks in its feces. This is a sign of stress. I would keep a close eye on the tank and medicate only if you are s...

Excellent point Mats, there are always numerous large"trade ins" at most LFS,commonly sold as an "algae eater" when they are small, soon to outgrow the tank.

The latest info I've heard is your LFS has been told by the reps is to not issue anymore refunds or exchanges. Have the customers deal directly with Marineland and make sure you have your receipt.Good luck

Re: Nice Beautiful large pleco?
Royals are my favorites too, but bear in mind they take a long time to grow, some are more fragile than others, certain varieties, for example the L027's retail over $100 ea. and you certainly would not put that in a tank with agressive fish.IMO the L014 Scobiancistrus, although a beautiful and scrappy...

Re: Albino Bristle Nose not Breeding
I also have a few breeding longfin bn trios. I also believe that the goldfish aren't good tankmates which could be a factor. My bn's stopped spawning for a while and with some trials and experiments I figured out in the 1 tank I took away all the hideouts with exception of the breeding cave and they...

Re: drilling caves in driftwood
I have lots of driftwood in most of my tanks, and if it isn't "cavey" enough I us a paddle bit,up to 2 inches in d iameter, depending on what L# I am housing there. I have had good breeding success with this approach, especially with bn,some of my hypans like them too.My 180 gallon show ta...

Re: Feeding rubber lip pleco?
Hi Anthony, basically make sure that the belly isn't concave or sucked in, also your fish is relatively new to your tank and most likely hasn't gotten into a "routine" yet, most likely feeding at night. As for competing with the goldfish for food, he(she) will definelatly lose, try giving it ...

Hi all, just piping in about the Stealth(by marineland) heaters th at have been pulled off the shelves due to malfunction. If you have purchased one in the last couple of months you might want to keep an eye on it. Nice pics, beautiful fish. As stated by others if you are going to try to breed the L046's,personally that would be the only pleco species in the tank.

Re: Nice Beautiful large pleco?
I concur, I keep a (rhino plceo)pterygoplichthys scrophus in my 75 gallon african tank and it fares well,he is brash enough to keep even the most agressive out of his cave and he doesnt get bullied at dinner time either.

Re: L114
I have multiple L114'S in various tanks and have no problems. I live in Michigan and have well water which is quite hard. I salt the water after water changes which seems to help. Mine are very hardy and healthy, just be careful who you designate as their tankmates as they can be quite scrappy, they...

my water parameters are fine and I have had the 264 for a couple years and never had a problem, always ate, veggies and meaty alike. Been feeding that tank a more meaty diet(frozen bloodworms, frozen Mysis, and occasionally brine shrimp, also different pellet foods such as hikari carnivore,) lately. Wat...

bloat
Got up this morning to my L264 bloated and floating at the waters surface. I have previously lost another Leporacanthicus in the same manner about a year ago, an L114. I am assuming its a digestive gases problem, but what causes it and why are the Leporacanthicus(it seems) the only ones who seem to ...

Re: Feeding Leporacanthicus triactis...
My L.Triactis is very opportunistic, loves meaty stuff, but also relishes yellow squash, zuchini, romaine lettuce, honeydew melon, cantelope, and even algae wafers. Never had the mussel though, will have to try them, do you get them from the local fish mart?
