Thanks
Maybe (I hope) #3 is female. Any other opinions?
I had them in my parents basement for the last 6 months, since I'v been traveling around.
So now I've moved them to my apartment and they'll get cleaner water and more food

Re: Feeding shrimp to L014 & L253
Hey Bas
Feed them raw. Also because usually they cook them with salt or other addition.
I always feed my plecos with peeled shrimps. I guess they could easily peel them theirself, but I could imagine they won't eat it and that makes a bigger mess in the tank.

Re: Sex my L204s
Hello If they are really 4" in size, I guess they are all female. Only number 2 looks a bit like a male. Looks like it got some more interopercular odontodes. Large L204 are easy to sex. Males get a lot of odontodes on the tail. And most of them show them all the time. If not, you can still fee...

Re: Sex my Pseudacanthicus sp. L97
Thanks for your replies. Personally I think 1 and 3 are female. That's why I have choosen those 3 out of my 6 specimen. Regarding head shape I think 2 looks much more male than 1. The head is wider at front and has an angle...that's what I imagine :d But best indication, which I didn't tell before, ...

Re: What sex are my Pseudacanthicus Leopardus
An update in a few months would definetly be interesting
Second fish is quite thin. This is because first has grown faster now and started to be territorial. As long as second one was bigger, I've never had that problem so I've separated them now.

Re: What sex are my Pseudacanthicus Leopardus
11-12" is between SL and TL. The buckets diameter is 12". So TL of the plecos is bit longer.
I keep them at 28 - 30°C (82 - 86°F)

Hey
But as a first improvement you could give them some hiding spots. What you offer is not really an adequate animal housing.

Please help sex my L97
Good evening. On the weekend I've moved my six L97 into a bigger tank. I've used this oppurtunity to make some pictures. To be honest, they aren't that good... They measure 15 - 18cm (but #2 and #4 are only 12cm). Any suggestions what sex they are, please? Cheers Simon http://www.imgbox.de/show/img/...

Re: New Pleco Spawn
Hello
Definitely no L142. These are Hypancistrus, and very nice pattern. I suggest L136. How big are they?
Edit: Just watched the video. Looking at body shape,I tend to Hypancistrus contradens (mostly sold as L201 big spot).
Cheers

Re: Sexing Ogliancistrus sp (L020)
Ah now I got it
Well at least I haven't seen that on my L354. But to be honest also didn't see that so far on the L20 I've seen.
But of both you don't get to see so many, since the import rate is quite low.
Maybe others have experience to share here?

Hey Martin
Not sure about sex. But the lighter one (on left) definetly looks like a L354 to me. Don't recognize the other one since it is very dark, but no L354.
So I'm quite sure you have two different plecos there.

In my breeding group of L204 the 4 males had many odontodes like those on your picture and the 3 females really had none. Differences in my group are easy to see and even easier to feel by hand if I take them out! My L204 had been imported like 7 years ago and are all about 12-14cm without filaments...

I've talked to Henrique and he told me they got like seven (I don't remember if it's really seven) aspects which they take care off for each species. Each point they rate from 1 - 10. Between 1 - 4 that species past for that point, 5 - 7 they take a closer look and if the species is between 8 - 10 f...
