Panaque Breeding

Post by Yann »

Hi!!

I am rather surprise this is not making more news...

One of the last genus of Loricariidae, Hypostominae to be bred in captivity has finally been cracked!!

A german auqarist managed to breed Panaque cf armbrusteri "Rio Araguia"

http://www.ms-verlag.de/AMAZONAS-Einzel ... ducts=4194

Looking forward to reading about this achievement!!

Cheers

Just got my copy of Amazonas yesterday. Great article on the breeding and fills me with hope for breeding mine!

Although it looks like it will be 4-5 more years until I am ready.

I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read the article yet so I won't reveal any more.

There is also this.

If I've understood it correctly, the spawn was in Taiwan not Germany?

Yes spawn was in Taiwan. It was Daniel from Germany who got in contact with the guy from Taiwan and translated the article.

Not one that I can think of that is legal. You'll need to subscribe to amazonas I think (it's very good).

Emphasis on VERY. It's a top notch magazine, great articles, magnificent photos. The only thing close the same quality, that I've read, is PFK.
