L052 - Dekeyseria or Zonancistrus?

Post by Obliviou$ »

I'm a little confused here, which is the right name for my L52?

Dekeyseria sp. L052 or Zonancistrus sp. L052?

Hi!

Since the work of J. Armbruster on the phylogeny of Loricariidae, Zonancistrus is considered as a synonym of Dekeyseria...
Now all Isbrücker followers might not agree...

L052 = Dekeyseria pulcher ?

Post by sher »

I have found that some hobbyists identify L052 as Dekeyseria pulcher. Is it true?

Yes, that's true. But not correct IMO. D. pulcher is a Rio Negro fish and L052 is a Colombian export. The whole issue of these fish is murky. Stick with the l numbers on these ones for a while, we have D. pictus and D. brachyura to worry about still...
