Has anyone bred L-262 Hypancistrus sp.?

Post by Sanna »

I am asking this because my friend has got at least five L-262 babies (very cute I might add!) growing in this tank at the moment.

This pleco is quite rare in Finland, and I guess he might be the first one to successfully breed it over here. But it would be interesting to know how widely it is being bred elsewhere in the world.

P.S. Why does the star appear in the word "pleco"?

The * in pleco is covered in the FAQ. As far as spawning reports, I'm not sure that I've heard of any, so please tell your friend congratulations!

HI!

Yeap Congratulations!!
AFAIK a few spawn of this species have been reported...

It is not often bred because not often offered for sale...
The Queen Arabesque L260 is coming from the same river (Tapajos) and is certainly more popular in the trade...

Cheers
