Well there's quite a few Lyretailed plecs from peru but I'd bet your referring to Acanthicus Hystrix.

Acanthicus have lots of barbs/spurs down the flanks, I have an Acanthicus Hystrix @ approx 10" now and asides from colouration and the lyre tail he is a lot different in 'texture', having a slimmer tail as well.

On a related note, I've seen the pic of the big Acanthicus Hystix (old photo) on the reference site , I know they're among the largest of the Plecs but to what size can I expect mine to get in captivity?
