Panaque sexing?

Post by Suckermouth »

I was looking at my 7" Royal Plec on the glass today, and noticed that its genital papilla looks blunt and wide. This would lead me to believe it was a female, but they could be blunter for all I know. Does anyone have pics of Panaque genital papilla for this?

It also was pulsing! I guess it's true that plecs can breathe through their intestines, but I didn't expect them to actually draw water in!

That would be the action of their intestine pushing the waste through is all. Not breathing. Happens in humans too ;)
