I purchased 7 Cories from my LFS a few weeks ago, but I think they are mislabeled. The owner of the store had labeled the tank “Reticulatus Cory”, which I had never heard of before. I was planning on buying Sterbai or Emeralds, but these really caught my eye. They have a has significantly more horizontal striping and even gold bars just before the dorsal fin than the fish in my books. I have attached pictures from Aqualog’s “all corydoras” as well as my own fish. Let me know what you think!

Hi Catfishcommando,

These are , a beautiful fish. They often get imported under the incorrect ID of . The most notable difference between the two species is that one has a solid black blotch on the dorsal fin, whereas the other (yours) has a series of irregular diagonal dark lines across the dorsal fin.

These are a wonderful cory. I'm sure you'll find them interesting to keep.

Cheers,
Eric
