Bristle-nose Breeding

Post by CatBrat »

Hi everyone,

At the moment I am keeping 5 Bristle-nose plecos, 2 males and 3 females, which I hope to start breeding from. Four of my Bristle-noses are of one sub-species, but my largest male is of another.
The question that I want to ask is if the diffrent sub-species will spanwn with each other?
If they did spawn is it likely that there will be any adverse effects on the fry?
Also, at what length do Bristle-noses mature at? My fish range from around 8cm through to about 12cm.

Cheers CatBrat.
