Floating Cory

Hi,

Two days ago I found one cory floating upside down near the surface. I thought it was dead, but no, as soon as I got it on the net it sprung to live, so I let it go. Later it was down with the others like nothing happened. A few hours later I fund it again floating upside down and then it went down to the school. I behaved normally for two days eating, swiming, etc. Today after feeding it ate and then 15 minutes later it was caught by the filter, dead.

Normally if I found them like that they are dying and don't make a comeback like nothing at all and die just after eating.

Any ideas or comments about this?

Thanks!

Sorry for your loss. I don't know why it appeared to recover before dying, but the initial behavior of floating is a bad sign of a swim bladder disorder.

I suspected the swim bladder, but after seen it with the others I discarded the idea. Now I wonder if it could have taken too much air, since they like to take gulps if air.

Anyway I think this is a singular event not a sickness that would spread to the others, so I’m not too worried.

Thanks for your comment.
