I used to have fishes rather similar. Bought as Pimelodella, but later two of the group grew out to 25 cm, which is a bit large for Pimelodella - but perhaps, that was just my bad luck.

These two were rather shy, and oneday one of them died. However being shy, and Heptapterids apparently decay very fast, I did not notice that, and the end was I lost almost all fish in that tank (being 290 * 80 cm footprint, it was quite a nice collection).

Enjoy them, but do take notice of their health.

Thanks, guys.

Really surprise me to get them fm an importer that doesnt really deal with SA fishes. Plus, I got them for under USD6 ea. :)

I used to keep several of these or very similar fish. Pimelodella is such a large genus and so many look close. The bigger upper caudal lobe indicates a male, if I recall correctly.

this is helpful: http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/view ... imelodella

and yours from 2012 :) viewtopic.php?f=13&t=34924&hilit=pimelodella
