This is my Male bristlenose. He is about 5" long With outrageous bristles.
What is odd is his colors. they are unbelievably bright With greens and yellows. BUT as you can see in the photos has ALOT of ORANGE in his fins and even on the sides of his body.

Its has appearance of a green dragon but to many other gorgeous colors to say it is for sure. It took me awhile and a lot of searching online but I was finally able to get a female that was close. but nowhere as much yellow and orange as the male. ( There is one picture of the female included )

I am glad to announce that they recently Spawned!! and the babies are doing great. might even sell some as these could be some gorgeous plecos!!

so my question is what is my male??? thanks in advance and ask anything you want.

Hi Bellas Fish,

Welcome to PlanetCatfish, and thanks for sharing pictures of your bristlenose.

You've probably read elsewhere that tank raised Ancistrus are a hodge-podge of line-bred color morphs. So what you have might be a distinct line or a blend of two or more lines.

From the blotchy colors on your male, I believe he is a calico BN (); given the green colors, maybe he's a calico-green dragon cross (but that's just speculation).

Cheers, Eric
