Cool looking fish! :YMAPPLAUSE: Do you know the scientific name? Something that good looking might be worth considering adding to my tank. :d

These are the only 3 fish known so far and yet to be described or given an L number. I've had them since April. I bought 4. The one that died is in the freezer waiting to be sent of to a certain person. :)

Without looking up L#'s, this fish looks awfully similar to many already out there? Is there a reason why this is a different species, or, could it be it was now found in another part of the amazon?

Hi,

what Nick meant was, that its a potential new species and definitely a new morph/form of Peckoltia. It belongs to the vittata-complex, that seems clear. From Nhamunda we already know a similar form, but not from Negro yet, it doesnt have a L-Number either, so its definitely something new to the hobby and interesting to see the mentioned complex spreading over the Amazon.

cheers
Daniel

I thought he was talking about a Nhamunda Species without a L-Number, yet.

I believe he's referring to the fish pictured above not yet having an L-number.

Probably L477, but importer bought them as L134, later said they were from Nhamunda. Maybe they are something completely different though. Might never find the truth =(

Hi,

as Eric said I referred to the Negro Peckoltia, sorry for being unclear about that.

Hehe :D That one is a L177, was assuming nobody would take him for an peckoltia, so I left out any remarks for him :D
