Hatching artemia directly in your freshwater tank ?

Post by plesner »

Has anyone tried this device: http://www.ecotronics.de/shop/index.htm?naupli_star.htm ?

Supposedly it should make it possible to hatch artemia directly in a freshwater tank without any of the saltwater from the device ending up in your tank. Your fry would then be able to eat the artemia as they leave this device.

I have used an older version of the same devise NT labs make it an i think it's still for sale now in the UK.
They are not cheap and you would need one in every tank so it makes more sence to just hatch the brineshrimp elsewhere.
If you were going away for a weekend and you need a feeder it's an option.
But you are just waiting for that suction cup to fail and then the salt will be released in full.
