Mystery species from Oiapoque River, Brazil

Post by Mocotun »

Hi all,

An expert Ichthyologist has been unable to ID this species of catfish caught and released from the Oiapoque river which borders Brazil and French Guyana. The river is fresh water at the point of capture and the catfish is about 11 inches long. Any ideas?

Thanks Silurus, I guess that one is a lot more common than expected!
