Black water?

Post by Shane »

If you really think about it our hobby is mostly about maintaining water.

You can imagine my frustration with my groundskeeper over this one.
This is what an overdose of manganese looks like.

That looks like a "unit" mistake, e.g. "Use 5g per cubic meter" and it became "5kg per cubic meter" or "5g per gallon" or some such.

I take it that it's a permanganate (probably sodium) that you are using instead of chlorine for bacteria control.

A "unit mistake" was my guess as well.

Wow, the fellow must have felt kind of silly...

But did you know people are dying their poolwater black to make it look more natural, keep it warmer and block sunlight to help with algae?
Looks kinda cool! :D

And what is that awesome dark coloured row of foliage beyond the fence on the right? Looks like a fat-leaved version of Black Mondo Grass. Nice.
Racing, shoes and fish. Nothing else matters. Oh, and bacon.

Pennisetum setaceum 'Rubrum' :) but I was talking about the larger leaved specimens that are growing along the fence where the little girl is playing. Almost looks like spinach leaves but with more structure and a nice neat form - :P
