Cat drawing stuck on my mouse
This was interesting. The catfish drawings in the upper left corner got stuck on my mouse last night. I know you can swim them around if you click on them but beware if you have a cheap computer like mine. I couldn't un-click the cat so all through my reading, the cat stayed on the mouse.

Racing, shoes and fish. Nothing else matters. Oh, and bacon.

Re: Cat drawing stuck on my mouse
Is it a mouse that requires batteries? My mouse does things like that when I ignore the "low battery" warning. In fact, it just started doing goofy things now.

Nope not a battery operated mouse, just an old one.
The Larger Half says it's just natural Instinct for a cat to go after the mouse so I shouldn't worry about it. Hasn't happened again, especially now that I'm trying to do it.

Re: Cat drawing stuck on my mouse
The picture (or a shadow thereof) will follow the mouse if you hold the left mouse-button down. If, for some reason, the device driver for the mouse "missed" the button up event [or missed passing it on to the next layers up], then Windows will not know you've let go of the mouse button - when using a battery mouse, the mouse itself may not send the event to the receiving station, as well.

I had no idea you could do that.
I bought these for every computer we own

Best mouse (mice?) I have ever owned. I go to work each day and grab the cheapo Microsoft mouse on my workstation that feels like a 10 pound lead brick and shudder. Feels like I am moving the mouse pointer via pure physical force instead of it gliding effortlessly at the slightest twitch of a muscle. Takes a few days to get used to the super fast responsiveness, but once you do going back to a cheap mouse is like downgrading from a sports car to a farm tractor.
The only part of our computer we are in physical contact with almost 100% of the time is the mouse. A good one is worth every penny.

Spooky update:
It should be, he's become a terrorist! In between getting into mischief, he's adorable and insanely affectionate. I've lost one nice vase - put it on top of the fridge for safe keeping..., two plants and someday maybe a ceiling fan if he gets what he wants, it's only four feet over his head but the bed is centered under it and Spooky thinks that he'll get it someday. Spends many minutes jumping at it, straight up and down, over and over.
I'm certainly losing a few extra pounds getting up every time I hear a new noise, 40 or 50 times a day I think, "What's he doing now?"
We no longer keep the toilet paper on the roll, he thinks it's his personal duty to make sure it's piled neatly on the floor. Makes a fluffy bed.
He just figured out that something on the laptop screen moves.
As a writer and an artist, I used to have pens everywhere, now they are all in a heavy drawer. I can never find one when I need it.
My house has become very minimalist, no chachkis anywhere, surfaces bare, no fine china in use. I'd switch to paper plates while he goes through his teenage years but he would eat the plate if he got hold of one.
The funniest thing we see right now is that he thinks that if he freezes, we won't see him. Like when he gets up on the table or some place where he shouldn't be and I walk into the room, he'll freeze like a statue. I can walk right up in front of him and he doesn't move.
Purrs like a race car but has a tiny pathetic meow like a cheetah, more of a chirp really. He clearly said the word, "Soup?" once.
I just had a horrific thought, what are things going to be like once it's housefly season?

Never a boring moment.
