Help me identify this catfish

Post by kirky »

Hi, I am new to these boards, and I was hoping you could help me out. I got my first catfish a few months ago. However, I was stupid enough, not to ask how big it would get, and what the name of it was. So, I am hoping you guys can tell me it's exact name and how big it will get.

I know the pictures aren't of that good a quality. Let me know, if you need some better ones, to identify it.

Thanks in advance :)

Looks like an Ancistrus. One of those that are not particularly easy to identify at the species level.

hmmm... okay. Then what about size? Is it possible to determine how big it is going to get? I'm just afraid it grows too big for my tank, since it's grown a lot over the last couple of months.

Most Ancistrus reach about 12 cm or so.
