What variety spotted synodontis?

Post by LazyJ »

Can someone please tell me what variety of synodontis this is?

I found these at PetSmart, unlabeled. The salesperson said they were "Mystery Fish." She said she thought they were some variety of Corydoras, and so would sell them to me for the $3.49 Corydoras price. I told her I was pretty sure they were a Synodontis, but who am I to argue? I bought the five they had and was even able to use a $5 off coupon. What a deal!

Now, I just need to know what I have gotten myself into. Depending on the species, they will either go into my community tank, or, will go into my soon to be cichlid tank.

HELP! Thanks in advance.

P.S. - First time posting on this website and do not fully undersatnd the photo options. I have uploaded the photo to my album, but not sure how you access it. So, if not able to, my apologies.

These bear a strong resemblance to . It might be better to wait until they get a little bigger to dicount the possibility they may be something else (like a hybrid).

I don't know what they are, but they are the same ones I saw at Petsmart selling as Synodontis longirostris.

unfortunately your fish are hybrids; artificially created mutts, not a true species
