Fluval FX5 Canister Filter

Has anyone and experience of these? Are they any good and are they worth the £159.00 price tag.

I've never seen that before. I went to the Hagen web site and it's not there. I've never seen the TetraTec canister filter, nor the new Eheim 3 either. None of the manufacturers are hyping these filters on their web sites either. :? I guess it's like buying a first release of a new kind of car. Either you've got a Mustang or a Edsel. You know?

It looks nice, but I've never heard of them either!

I noticed the description didn't say anything about it not allowing water to bypass the media.. So if it allows bypass after the media's clogged like other fluvals, I'll certainly be no more likely to buy it!

I would rather spend the money on a Rena or Eheim filter. I've got much better experience with both of those brands than the Fluval or Interpet "cheap copies". They just seem to work better and not just clog up at the drop of a hat.

Strange, that's just the opposite of my experiences w/ fluval canisters (both the #03 & #04 series). For me these filters just allow water to flow right through them even after running for months after being completely sludged-up, even on "dirty" tanks!
