Hi SidGuppy,

We suck at this too apparently but now that you're around, take a guess! You're allowed to ask questions...
you people speak an entire different language; it's not plain ole English, that's for sure
I was gonna do my next clue in Haiku but it doesn't look like I'll get the chance...

Clue question before I head out the door to work:
Where's the Tom Jones Cat from? Continent even? Common in Scotland?

Right, come on people. What do grokefish and Tom Jones have in common?
What is the link or the difference between Ho Chi Min and water?
original clues:
panaque wrote:"It's not unusual" he sang, which applies to me here, but not everywhere. I am to him (the singer) what a famous communist revolutionary is to water.
Two more clues:
- Not far from Devon
- a Gaulish god

Ho Chi Minh and water; it's from the Vietnamese rainforest?
or from the river wich crosses Ho Chi Minh City?

can't remember the name of that river, but that shouldn't be too hard

a Gaulish God; Toutatis or Cernunnos aka The Horned God?
are we talking a catfish with antlers here

Southern English topography isn't my field of knowledge; apart from Stonehenge I wouldn't find much

all of this doesn't give me any clue however.

if these are your 'easy hints" i don't want to know the difficult ones.
What do grokefish and Tom Jones have in common?
a thirst for beer and cheap women?
they're both bad singers and I don't want to hear their showervocals?
they both act like lumberjacks, dress up in high heels and a bra and wish they were a girlie just like their dear papa? :beardy:

sorry, mate, it couldn't be helped

I think Grokefish and Tom Jones is tryingh to say "Welsh" or "from Wales", which also isn't that far from Devon. I could be wrong.

It doesn't actually give me any clues as to the actual species, but maybe my ideas will trigger someone else's imagination.

Ok, let's give it a shot

I skip on the Gaulish God.

Welsh could be Wels as in European wels (Silurus). the Silurii were a Celtic people related to the Gauls, but they lived in old England, not i n Gaulle.

however, all of this isn't going anywhere near a river in Ho Chi Minh city

so it should be a silurid/wels in a big river in Asia?

damn....I couldn't find any Silurus species in the Mekong.

Well, Wels () is correct, so let's move on!

To explain the clues:
"It's not unusual" he sang, which applies to me here - we've had this one before...
Ho (Chi Min) id one H short of H2O (water).
Tom Jones and grokefish are Welsh so I am one H short of that = Wels.
Not far from Devon - The geological period before the Devonian was the Silurian
Gaulish god - Glanis

I told you it was easy!

OK, here we go

I'm half a vase and half a theatre.

I really like my home; people who visit my home however, are advised to wear helmets and sit on inflatable stuff or they get hurt bad.

the ones who are really good at crashing my place do like the eskimo does.

my life is like the biggest hit of the Urban Dance Squad

I lack the same things my Latino cousins lack as well, as a result I look like I should originate lsewhere, not where I'm really from

some who live in similar homes like me are not so tough, I'm an easy guy.

they are wussies!

..... but they get everywhere, unfortunately I do not; this has everything to do with tunnelvision of certain people

if it wasn't for humans killing humans I'd be a lot more popular than I am now

 in 1 go!

yup, this is it.
I'm half a vase and half a theatre.
Amphora or Amphitheatre; Amph
I really like my home; people who visit my home however, are advised to wear helmets and sit on inflatable stuff or they get hurt bad.
rheophilus; loves the fast streaming water.
humans go rafting on it and sit on an inflatable raft, wearing a helmet (if you're not really stoopid, you wear a helmet)
the ones who are really good at crashing my place do like the eskimo does.
experienced visitors of the rheophile rivers use a kayak ;)
my life is like the biggest hit of the Urban Dance Squad
(living in the) Fast Lane
I lack the same things my Latino cousins lack as well, as a result I look like I should originate lsewhere, not where I'm really from
like South American catfishes, Amphilius lacks nasal barbels
some who live in similar homes like me are not so tough, I'm an easy guy.

they are wussies!
Asian rheophiles like Glyptothorax, Hara and Gagata are fragile in captivity, Amphilius is easy to keep and quite tough.
..... but they get everywhere, unfortunately I do not; this has everything to do with tunnelvision of certain people
if it's from Africa and not a cichlid or a Synodontis it gets overlooked by the exporters. hence tunnelvision
if it wasn't for humans killing humans I'd be a lot more popular than I am now
most of the heart of Africa is torn apart by war, genocide and ethnic "cleansing", putting a lot of interesting catfish well out of reach :(

how did you get it so fast, Panaque? I'm impressed.....

I got Amphora and Amphitheatre, hence Amphilius. I got the Urban Dance Squad, Fast Lane clue: fast flowing water, hence rheophilus. I also got the warzone clue so it all fell into place...

My turn again.

I thought perhaps Robertsi - the Tyson-Roberts catfish - Mike Tyson winner of heavyweight boxing

Alberti - famous Alberts - Einstein- winner of nobel prize

Decora, meaning decorated, as in military decorations, winning medals....ah well on to the next one :D
