Hi!

Virginie, can you tell us more about the water parameters and what you feed him?
Could it be a disease? Such as costia?
Do you have the possibility to move your fish in another tank that have really different setup and parameters ( such as something opposite to what he has now?)
Cheers

(Salut, yann)

To know the parameters of the tank and food, just look at my first post, I think they are. Water is changed 1/3 each week. And, no, I haven't got another available tank (only a 100 liters which is an hemichromis family "sweet home").
It doesn't look like a disease, the fish has got normal behaviour and still eat ("special catfishfood" + seeds (I'm not sure it's the good word : sort of sea "plants" - but not really, you know ?) + worms (not often, about twice a month), mussels, beef heart, etc).

Speaking of white Panaques... Aqualog has a "Panaque sp." as L-003a if i remember correctly... what is this fish? Looks like a very nice fish.

I can't say my panaque is beautiful... And the worst : it stays just in front of eyes, at the very midle of the tank, you couldn't avoid to see it even if you would.
today, some grey 'aeras' (it's not the right word, I hoppe you understand) are appeared : is it the end of that odd thing ???

Do you mean you CAN say your panaque is beautiful?? I think it is a very pretty fish which as you said it stays in the middle of the tank which makes it a great tank centerpeice.
by the way your english is very good!

Yes, usualy, this fish is quite beautiful, but now that it is white and grey, as it were dirty, "beautiful" is not the true word, Awful is more appropriate. Sorry  ...

You can imagine why a completely white fish would be so rare as i cant imagine them being common in nature...must be a great sighting for any predator trying to hide...except the water is white. ;)
cheers

My L-046 zebra turned completely white for about a week...now it's back to its usual self...dunno what caused this. Well I did transfer it to a new tank...a bigger one.

I think this odd thing is quite over now : day to day, my fish is darker and darker. Its pattern isn't normal yet, but it seems to get better.
I don't now how, nor why, nothing has changed  :?: .
Thanks a lot !
