Pimelodus albofasciatus

Never heard of this one, sold as a 'four-line pim.' LFS says they get 10" long, Cat-eLog says 6". Do they have any special requirements? I got two, since new pims are hard to come by in these here parts.

The fish sold as four-line pims are more likely to be P. blochii, which do grow to 10". Pretty undemanding, if somewhat underrated fish. Not as sociable as P. pictus, but they should get along fine if the tank is large enough.

They do look a lot more like blochii than albofasciatus.
