These are the artificially-bred long-finned forms of Corydoras paleatus.
God, what monstrosities.

Yup.
A number of people in this forum feel strongly about keeping man-made strains like these. You might have already guessed that I'm one of them.

I guess creating a form of these isn't pretty good at all, esp for the natural ones....

But since I got them, they'd still get the care and love anyway.... hehehehe... I didn't know that they were such a mutated form anyway... Such long wavy fins, to a newbie like me, they're something really different...

Can't blame you for taking it as a new species; there's a 'paleatus-look-a-like' where the males have very long fins indeed: Corydoras macropterus. The tailfin however is short. They look a bit like your fish, but more "in proportion" as one might say.

in the CateLog are more pics.

I have seen hybrid longfin koi before, but never a cory. In my opinion its one step too far. When will the fish farms learn that messing with nature in this way will only lead to more problems in general, disease wise unfortunately

Yep, but a bad one, look at the headshape (usually slopes upward) and the dorsal spine; looks like an inbred specimen to me....
