MS "Runtime Errors" Prevent access to Chat

Post by jboyce »

I've tried several times to join the chatroom.

I repeatedly get a message of "MS Runtime Error" and "Debugging Required"

Then I get the MS De-Bugger and closing it closes the Website access.
So, does this happen often? Do I have a particular problem ( I am located in France; the temperature here these days is 30-55C, the pH is generally pro-American, but my petit village does not have ADSL [ISD in American?]) or is this a weirdness of the system?

Any ideas?

Switch off the javascript debugger. There is a bug in there somewhere but it runs OK anyhow, the message you are getting is just because you've asked the browser to specifically report errors. We will be moving to new chatroom software soon, so this will resolve the problem and quite a few other chatroom issues.

It's in tools/internet options/advanced somewhere, not sure exactly as I am using IE 6.0.

Thanks for the suggestion. Tried there and don't find it. Oh, well. Guess I don't need to "chat", anyway!
Maybe if Dell ever figures out how to build my new computer ...

It's under the Tools/Internet Options/Advanced like Jools said, but then it's under the settings for Browsing and it says "Disable Script Debugger" with a little checkbox next to it. Maybe this will help. :)
