What is on the barb?
Here’s a better picture they look brown coral clustered area around the barb. Hasn’t appeared to spread. He had this when he was shipped to me from out of state. Has had them for roughly 8 months now. He had some sort of bacterial disease that tattered his fins and also had holes in his top fin and that cleared up with the MetroPlex treatment. I don’t even know what category these pests fall under so I cannot research the proper criteria for a diagnosis treatment plan.

Re: What is on the barb?
They are some sort of ciliate or flagella organism I believe? Kite shaped armor plating that has a brown color to it. They don’t appear to be moving according to my naked eye.

Re: What is on the barb?
I am far from expert on this and I will trust Eric's opinion over mine about 95% 0f the time. However, because Lpemb19 is so insistent that it is an organism, I wonder of it could possibly be one of the 100 species of Argulus?

Twotank: After shortly researching what you suggested I really believe you are right. I will do more research when I have time to confirm. Type of Argulus.
