Cichlasoma managuense ate my Lipsarcus Pardalis?

Post by BIGblue »

Is it possible for a cichlasoma managuense to eat a lipsarcus pardalis? The managuense is around 6 - 7inches and the lipsarcus pardalis is around 3 1/2 - 4 inches. At first I thought the pardalis was just hiding in a really good spot, so I didn't pay much attention to it. I cleaned the tank today and I couldn't find him. I checked around the tank too, just to make sure it didn't jump out. There is no trace of the fish. He just disappeard.

Hi,
of course it is possible, most of all, if the Liposarcus has died already.
Nearly all dead fish are eaten by the other fishes (and snails).
The Managuense is a predator, but if he would kill and eat a half as big as himself catfish I cannot answer.
