Would it not be possible to use the http://www.milonic.co.uk/ one as a floating horizontal menu?

It's not floating, it's static, so how you make it float?

Anyway, as far as I can see it won't work over two vertical frames such as those we use in the cat-elog. One frame is fine as you can specify the TARGET in menu script (see exampleon the site), but I can't see how it's going to render across two frames dynamically (depending on browser window size).

See what you mean Jools, get rid of the frames maybe?
Total redesign of the cat e log?
