are there any plecos that like daylight?

hi, i thought i saw somewhere that some plecos dont mind being out in daytime but i cant find the info again. any suggestions about what type of plec to look for as far as active during the day?

from my own experience bristlenose females are out and about more then males, my clowns arent too skittish but not too outgoing either. My common pl*co is the most outgoing but I do not reccomend them to anyone as they get massive.

Male or female - I never see my Ancistrus

The most outgoing pleco I know is Pt gibbyceps - as soon as they are 20 cm or more, they are almost always in sight.

But yes, these get massive. Mine I'd estimate 40 cm or more. Age? ~8 years (I got them 7 years ago, @ 6 cm)

Aside from the tiny ones, Oto's and such and perhaps some of the Sturisoma and Farlowella, I'm not aware of any plecos that don't hide when the lights are on and food isn't available. You can get them to come out a bit more by making sure the tank is dark, there's plenty of hiding spaces and treating them to a bit of food...

Out of all my plecos the most out going in the daytime are
L128 Blue Phantom
L204 Flash
L015 Tank Breed Candys but my wild candy i never see
Panaques/Large Royals I find are active some part of the daylight
Bristlenoses tank bred are constantly out

Although I wouldn't say my L14s are out all the time, they don't seem to be scared of a swim when the lights are on. Also I tend to find clever layouts allow you to see plecs even when the lights are on, especialy if you can provide large shaded areas for them to swim in.

Although mine just be more active because they are fighting over the best holes and cave
