Bagroides melapterus

How rare is this catfish in aquarium trade? Does someone have experiences with this catfish?I haven´t seen it never anywhere just only few pictures in books.
Well i wish i was a catfish
swimmin in a oh, deep, blue sea (Muddy Waters, Catfish blues)

They are only occasional exports, because I have never seen them caught as frequently as Bagrichthys. I've kept one myself before and their requirements are very similar to those of Bagrichthys. They seem a lot shyer, though.

We saw them at the beginning of the year but there were only a few and in quite bad shape. The best of the bunch went home with Dave Speed and it is that fish that is pictured in the cat-elog. I think the main problem is that they are more shy and more aggressive to conspecifics than black lancers.
