The Chocolate or Rhino pl*co does not have an L-number because it is a described specie of pl*co already. It has been ascertained and documented scientifically. If you take a look at the cat-elog of the family of Loricariidae there are a number of pl*cos there without an L-number. Some of these are mostly described (except for the ones with cf. in the middle and the sp. in the end <---- these really don't have even an assigned L-number just yet).

Some L numbered species have already been properly described. Fortunately or unfortunately, people still use the L numbers to name them because it is easier to remember.

Hope that helps. I really got all the information from Yann. :D Thanks Yann!!!

Yeah that does help, thanks. I like to use L-numbers for documentation purposes. Glyptoperichthys scrophus is way to long to type if you're renaming files or uploading files to a website. Thanks again. :)
