If you use a hosting service like photobucket, Picasa, flickr, etc., it automatically resizes for you and you just post up the image tags.

Great to hear that Havard is still active and starting a great new project. Looks very interesting. Any ideas on what the livestock is going to be?

Re: LED floods
I think in the house where the enclosures are bigger they are fine, but in an aquarium fixture, there is not venting and not enough space. They came out about the same time as the compact fluorescents I believe, in an effort to pack in as much light in as small a space as possible for high tech plan...

Thanks, mate! What's the difference? Pardon my ignorance - I have never heard of Power Compact Fuorescent Lights. These: http://www.marinedepot.com/lighting_powercompact_compact-fluorescent_bulbs-ap.html The concerns is that these have way too much restrike for them to be efficient. And the big min...

Re: LED floods
What LEDs are you using? I have a double bright and its far from bright. I'm thinking about trying the Finnex. I am using a set of twin strips of AquaRay GroBeam 500 on my 125. I had them with a pair of Double Brights, but when my custom canopy was finished, I added 3 of the Panorama Pro Freshwater...

Re: LED floods
I've had nothing but problems with the power compacts with melted housings and cooked ballasts. Even the receptacles for the bulbs cracked in one case. I quickly moved away from these to T5 and then T5HO and now almost all my tanks are running LED's. I think the PC's generate way too much heat for t...

Re: Saltwater information for sea horses
Plenty of folks up here just go and pick up livestock in Blaine or Point Roberts. Then you can handle the CBSA problems yourself. I personally know several people who have done it and they said it's pretty straight forward as long as you have paperwork and receipts.

Re: 80cm riverbank theme
It might be enough flow to begin with but as the plants grow in and you add more stones there may be too many dead spots, but as you can, you can adjust later.

Re: 80cm riverbank theme
That's a very nice looking setup. IMO though, if you want a more natural river then a few more stones of different sizes to show the river transported sorting will make it look more natural. Is the 2211 going to provide enough flow in that tank? I have about the same size tank (US 20 gallons) and I ...

Re: Questions on L128 or L075?
The P. sabaji also gets quite a bit bigger. I have one that is close to 8" now while the biggest L128 I ever had was only 6" although I have seen 7" ones. The P. sabaji is definitely less shy and I see it much more often than my L128's.

Re: Disappearing Zebra Pleco Fry?
I don't know about H. zebra fry, but in my 100 gallon square tank, I have 6 adult discus, of which 4 are continuously spawning and all the fry get picked off by the tetras (Rummy Nose, Black neons, etc.), but I also have multiple pairs of P. compta, H. sp. (L333) spawning continuously and I've seen ...

Re: When to Worry??
I'd take the temperature up to 84F or even 86F. These guys seem to like discus level temperatures. At those temps, they all seem to eat zucchini right away. But at those temps, you'll have to keep an eye on the veggies as they break down fast.

Re: one of my Cories
Maybe it's my perception, but that pool filter sand, and the ones I've seen in person, doesn't look any finer than that Petco sand you had. But it'll definitely be rounder/smoother since it's used for filtration. Geochemically, all fine grained natural substrates are not totally inert anyway. Only m...

Re: plec's do they chew and eat silicone tank sealer
One of our local members had a 210 gallon spring a leak at the seam where his African cichlids were picking at the algae on the silicone. Upon inspection of the silicone seam, it appears that the seam was defective to begin with and the fish only helped it to an early demise.

Re: Slate Caves -- Online Source? Red Slate Safe?
I've never used slate, but I got most of mine from Brantley at www.plecocaves.com and my plecos really like them.
As for red slate, that's just the oxidation state of the bound iron when the sediment was deposited, so I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I've had as many as 6 and they are always shy. All my Hypans are shy. That's why I prefer for smaller fish for the tank.
