Re: Fishroom in the making!

A friend of me welded up a new rack last friday, beginning to get the feeling how it should be in my fish room.

Size of tanks is 375 litres on top and 325 litres underneath.

Sturisomatichthys leightoni breeding

My leightoni's are really at it now. 1 male and 3 females.
The first female start laying her eggs on saturday night, the second one took over on sunday, and now the third one is laying down her load. The male has a lot of fanning and cleaning to do for the next 7 days πŸ‘Œ

Re: Fishroom in the making!

The grass is Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, don't know the popular name for it.

Themperature in the tank is going between 22 and 24 Celsius.

Ph is stabilised at 6.2
Gh is 6
Kh is 3

Feel confident to introduce the fish now.

Re: Fishroom in the making!

Added a few plants in the foreground. Slower waters in this part of the tank. Hopefully the grass will spread out. Will add some Valisinera gigantea in the background.

Re: Fishroom in the making!

Did a little change today, removed the two bottom tanks and shortened the legs a bit. Now there is room for the 400 liter on top. That's where my group of Sturisomatichthys leightoni group will go.

Re: where are they today, could be the most traveled suckers?

Kaare, Greetings from Uganda! They were last in Mexico with me in about 2006 (?). I left them with Andrew in Washington DC as I could not take them to South Africa with me. -Shane Hi Shane, Long time no see! how are things in Uganda? where are they today, could be the most traveled suckers?

I just wondered where those Hypostomus robinii juveniles i collected in Trinidad in 2005 are, if they still are alive. They were brought back to Norway, was supposed to go to Scotland but went back over the atlantic and ended in Mexico, after that the rumors say that they took a flight to Washington...
