Re: C. orcesi Eggs
OK. I am now able to discern some fry that I have never seen, before. A few more days and they should photo ready. Additionally, they have spawned twice more since these fry were born. They, too, have gone into a mixed egg/fry tank with a good hatch rate and almost zero losses, so there might be a ...

Looking for an update Frank!! If you don't have pics, words will do! All are doing happily in their new tanks, and the ...

Ken's Fish will be carrying a new food in the near future that will also have wood in it. I talked with Ken at the Catfish Convention about the topic, and he said he was developing one with the help of Lee Finley. So keep an eye out for that, sure to be a good product at a reasonable price.

I'd also like the full article, please! I have 3 different tanks that have S. granulosus in them. Especially in the tank where there is a group of them(7 or 8 individuals) when they see me coming to feed, or just see me coming, they dash to the top of the tank and begin swimming upside down, hoping ...

I've dealt with this same exporter many times over a period of @5 years. Every year they pretty much halt export during the months of May/June because of not being allowed to catch the fish. I'm not at my home computer, so I might have the exact timing wrong, but always fishing is not allowed ...

It was just awesome! Each convention gets better and better. Excellent speakers of course, but a variety of topics, some were just wonderful samplings of different cats, other talks to make you think (and look at your cats in perhaps a new way, and other talks with tons of scientific information ...

I'm sorry if this is a duplicate question, but with my minimal skills at searching (or rather at finding answers!) I thought I'd ask.
Is this just another name of a known fish, or is it a new as yet un-named pleco? Just curious!
Thanks!

I'm so sorry to hear that!! I lost my last one earlier this year when we did the tank shuffle when we built the new racks. They were certainly a good looking fish.

Andrew,
Congrats! These are one of my most fav hypancistrus! How large are your adults? My wilds don't seem to have grown at all, they are still @2inches. I did get in some that were much larger once, but didn't keep any of those.

Re: L330's in the cave together!
Hey Rich! Sorry the one male isn't doing so hot... the 4 of them (along with the other two I still have!) were all in a 30 gallon tank together since I imported them. No decorations to keep the tank easier to clean. So sounds like maybe they are old enough to be posturing and juggling for the top ...

Just a quick update.. thanks to Stephan at the catfish convention. He seems to think that they are actually L387, which makes alot of sense, since the fish came from Colombia.
See? We DID do more than just drink beer.

Help ID pleco, shipped as L340, but NOT!
This was the absolute worst L340 that we've ever gotten. Usually get L129s instead, but this was a total farce!

This is a question that has plagued me so many times! I often will import these fish in (both the L129 and the L340, and the vast majority of the time, they all look the same! I agree that from all the *definitive* picutres I've seen of the L340, the creamy stripes of the L340 seem broader than the ...

My first wild pleco spawn!!
Woohoo!! I was so excited last night as I was feeding the tanks... and noticed something adhering to the sides of the L089 tank... Re: Hello everybody! My L129? Questions and ID
I just got in a shipment of L340's from Colombia. It contained L129 (that always happens) and what looks very similar to yours, and another one a bit different yet.
it is a very hard group to be very sure of if your collector/exporter isn't careful!!
To me, your fish is not an L129.
