I uses an Aquaclear 70 Hang On Back filter and I think it is the best filter for 50-gallon aquarium if your are finding a HOB filter.

The fry may not get sucked up, but some get very curious and to in the filter on purpose, even where the sponges or other media are . Likely they get from tank down the water flow area if it touches the water line. Just check your filters often :) I use a 10 g and a small sponge filter for eggs and ...

I clean the filter bands in my Penn Plax cascade 1000 external filter every 3 months and only rinse the baskets. Also I only used the polishing pads for the initial set up of the tank and that was because I used bagged rock bought at Lowes (a lot of sediment in that stuff) https://portlandaquarium ...

I'm planning for the best filter for 75 gallon fish tank. I think one Fluval 306 external filter from Hagen will be better than 2 Aqueon QuietFlow power filter, do you think so?
