Re: L397s Spawning :):):)

I got to see the egg development, so I can fill you on all the details here, the eggs are large in size about 4x the size of BN eggs. Once the fry hatch the egg sacs are huge and they bounce around on them like space hoppers. :)) But at this stage are extremely fragile. Hence some initial losses. Wi...

Re: L397s Spawning :):):)

That is just so cute!!! Congrats! :YMPARTY: :-BD I can't wait until mine grow a bit. Must have been the temp drop that triggered them to start flirting again wouldn't suggest dropping to that extreme, but it obviously had an effect! Will be doing the same once the babies moved from breeder box in ma...

Re: L397s Spawning :):):)

Thanks :) I went fry catching last night and transferred them into a breeder box. 21 fry in the box so far and I spotted a couple of stray ones still in the tank, i need to catch. I'd been advised initially that leaving them in tank was OK. But with adults getting busy again;). Thought moving the fr...

Re: Strange growth/tumor on L260 fin

Hi jobro, I recently discovered a lump very similar looking to this on one of my plecos fins. Got to know a very knowledgeable guy in regards to ffish health. On asking I was told it was lymphocistitus. There's a lot of speculation as to whether its contagious to other fish. Its possible it is when ...

Me too the males trapped three females in the last few days -they escaped- though a female outside each males cave managed to sneak in a smaller cave for him which he accepted very happily, with all this going on only a matter of time before I see results.

Re: Another L397 Adventure begins.

Thanks females are quite plump reckon i will see results very soon. The temperature was reduced to stop them breeding, inevitably that can only be maintained for so long in the current weather in a fish house so they are in condition. Obviously temp is higher now ;)

Re: Can a list be put together for suitable medications for common problems

Thanks TTA and Viktor. Of course one thing to consider and is an implicating factor is of course params inappropriate environment ect. Out of kilter params etc are very often the major causes of many fish health problems and the purpose of the sticky topics. At least when someone posts re a problem ...

Really sorry to hear about this Eric. Know where you're at as you know i had a similar experience. Completely gutting when this happens. Sure would be helpful to have some kind of list. Have a pleco in QT at the moment not doing very well. Just as well he's in QT.

Re: Fustrations Of Keeping Fish

I even tried to keep hold of the job, believe it or not, in the hope things might change. (They haven't TBH). I called the manager to try to reduce my hours my thoughts being less time I was there, the less fed up I'd be with this colleague I would be. (To put it politely). But when i called he wasn...

Re: L397s-Lets get them started!

Signs are really good then by the sounds of it. My males fanned to attract the girls. You'll know how male BNs do it even when not in a cave. I had an L397 serial phantom fanner :). You'll know the difference though as they really go for it in comparison to what my males did. Reckon yours are about ...

Re: L397s-Lets get them started!

:d Warm weather does the trick! My Adolfi cories and BNs spawned last week. And he has not left the cave? But then you're probably doing your best not to disturb them. But if he is congratulations. :-BD In terms of the fry if he's still looking after the eggs or fry, which i guess they would be by n...
