Hello, Ross Try to bring temperature 2C less. C sterbai can resist those temperatures but not for long periods of time. Do water changes 3 times a week, only 1/3 of it at a time with cooler water, bringing the temp 4C down. pH 6.8, TDS 120 or less. I f your water is 200ppm and you can get a spawn ou...

Re: Advice Needed for Breeding Sterbai Corydoras
Hello, Corydoradinae need to be environmentally stress to be able to procreate. If conditions are to their liking, they will not do much. Each species have their own idiosyncrasies according to their environment provided. What we do as keepers is only to provide them with a suitable environment for ...

I have never nor do I plant ever to own a Hawaiian shirt. :)) Plus, after years of attending events I have learned that hotel food for these things is usually awful and inevitably cold when served. Re: Corydoras Breeding
Hello,
What species are you going to be keeping? that is important to know. I have bred in 5, 10, 15, 20 30 and 40 gallons depending on the species? Corydoras pulcher, robustus would need a 20 for a group of 6. Check the size of the species in this site and plan accordingly.

Re: L134 Breeding Tank Size
Hello tolstoy21,
I've bred mine in a 30 (30"x18"x12") and 40 (30"x18"x 16") breeders and have been successful on both setups.
They are shy and need lots of hiding places, caves and/or driftwood. Well aerated tank and flow as well.
Cheers

Re: Adolfo not eating
Hello, I would isolate the C adolfoi and try to get them going that way. In my opinion is never a good idea to have new, stressed fish going into a community tank. There are already hierarchies established and the weakest or new will not get to enjoy too much food. Also, it could have had parasites....

Successful Corydoras eques spawn
I have tried several methods over the years to make C eques spawn to no avail. Frustration set in me for a while, disappointment settled in and I focused my attention to other species, and a diffent family of catfishes, I was even to spawn a few species of Hypancistrus including the elusive L046 zeb...

Hello,
Definitely not a zebra pleco. I tend to go towards L333, but too young to tell as can be confused with several other species at a young age.

Hello Yams, Eric made very good points. Raise temp to 84F, more meaty foods. I give mine shrimp and mussels chopped up, also good quality flakes and BBS. Also, might be better off to keep an species only tank as they might not be able to compete with food with other species. I give mine a 25% water ...

So, I did so and waited about 30 minutes after lights out, but they are too fast and was able to grab a few, then thought about doing t...

Hello,
I've found just easier to deal with to paint black with a small roller. Using only water base paint. Less of a mess, unless you want to have it as a display tank. Maybe use duck tape, using only about .25" width of tape.
