That's great that he's eating!
I'm really curious to see how your guy grows out. Any chance we could get some pictures of him?

On the difficulty of identifying your Goonch. (Bagarius)
Or, The convoluted phylogenics of the genus Bagarius. Please note, this article was originally posted elsewhere on 14 March, 2013. I figured my catfish friends on PCF would enjoy reading this too. I especially would like to thank Silurus- without whom this article wouldn't have been possible. http:/...

Re: Picture submissions / updates
Also, figured I'd point out that the blue cat was in a holding tank. I wasn't trying to actually keep her in that 20L.

If you all need higher resolution of any of these, I have high res versions of most of them. Bagarius rutilus- 10"- http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=949224&d=1379408456&thumb=1 6.5", as you can see, the orange isn't as apparent when she was young...

Re: Dwarf goonch
At least one fish that came in from this group of Wes' was in fact a rutilus. I also have a goonch that I acquired at 6.5" that is now almost ten. When I first got it, it had the small, rounded head of the 'dwarf goonches'. Her head is now getting more of a straight line profile and her fins ar...

Re: Fin surgery for a catfish?
Well I don't think that this will need done after all. She's already showing noticeable regeneration on her fins. Its amazing what a little pristine water, melafix and API aquarium salt will do for a fish. :) Her colors are already starting to improve as well. Here's a cell phone pic. I didn't feel ...

Re: Fin surgery for a catfish?
The surgery in question is where you sedate the fish with clove oil and remove damaged fin tissue with a very sharp razor. In arowanas it grows back like new. I don't intend to try this tomorrow, I was going to try it if the fish doesn't heal right. I'm hoping she heals up fine without needing to do...

Fin surgery for a catfish?
Hello all, I was wondering if it is possible to perform a fin surgery on a catfish. The same type of surgery one would perform on an arowana with messed up fins. I know the performance of the surgery would be academic, I'm curious if the catfish would heal to have perfect fins again like the arowana...

Ictalurus furcatus / blue cat article new picture submission
Hey guys, I was digging through my old pictures and found a picture of my old blue cat that I forgot that I had. This pic is better than any of the others I donated. Feel free to use it for the cat-e-log if you all so desire! http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/562542_10151558887294417_750622...

Re: Blue catfish, Ictalurus furcatus cat-e-log issues
Thanks guys!
I also wish to note that I'll be getting a new blue cat here in the coming week or two. My photography skills have very much improved in the past year since I lost these fish and I'd be happy to share some new, better pictures.

Ancient lurker, recently joined. Wanted to say hi!
Hello all, I finally signed up here. I've been lurking around PCF for a very long time. I can't say off hand how long, but that should be a clue as to how long its been lol. I've been keeping fish for about 20 years now, but I've only gotten serious about keeping large fish in the past five years or...

Blue catfish, Ictalurus furcatus cat-e-log issues
Hello all, I am writing to bring to your attention a possible issue I have noticed with the article for the blue catfish, Ictalurus furcatus. Ictalurus furcatus It appears to me as though the primary image used to display this species is in fact I. punctatus, a channel catfish. The reasons that led ...
