Yet another common pleco Identification request
Tale as old as time, I've been scanning the "common" stock again and this handsome devil popped up amongst the droves of hypostomus and disjunctivus. I'm thinking maybe joselimanus? Individual is around 6" long.

Hypostomus not growing?
I was excited to find a small H.plecostomus recently in a shop as they're bizarrely less common than the sail fins around here. Unfortunately despite being in good healthy it's been almost 3 months with zero signs of growth. I have him in a 125gal tank, lots of available natural food and I feed ...

Chaetostoma confirmation
Noticed an odd man out in the rubberlip tank, could just be a stressed out rubberlip but it has uniform white spots across it's body instead of black spots.

Re: Orinocodoras eigenmanni?
Now you've inspired me to troll through stocks of armatulus at my local stores, looking for these. You've created a monster in me. :))
Cheers, Eric
Let me know if you have any luck I'm going back to look for more here this week now that the new shipment's in. This guy was out with my 10-in ...

Orinocodoras eigenmanni?
Hoping this is O. eigenmanni instead of P.armatulus. I have multiple large armatulus and this guy definitely has a longer nose than them. He also has mottling on his underside and anal fin where my armatulus are solid grey/white IMG_20230713_164259.jpg IMG_20230713_163815.jpg IMG_20230713_163736.jpg

Re: Megalechis thoracata or picta?
Thank you, I was fairly confident it was picta and hes gotten even bolder since hes been in the tank. Gotta go grab the rest of em out of their feeder tank I suppose. Any reason I cant mix em with my hoplosternum after QT?

Megalechis thoracata or picta?
Unlabeled Megalechis popped up today at the shop so I snatched it up. Initially thought it was Megalechis thoracata but now that its settled I'm unsure. Theres definitely a band on the tail. Hes getting dewormed rn so pics not the best. Anyone familiar with this genus want to weigh in on his body ...

Re: Gibbiceps?
Zero growth since October? Hes stalling at around 6". I've got a gibbiceps and disjunctivus that have shot way past him in size in a different tank.

Re: Gibbiceps?
He's coming along nicely. Not a fast grower, I've got an albino gibbi that's doubled past him. Over all pretty shy but great color/pattern

Re: Gibbiceps?
Thank you very much! So my only other question would be if his unique juvenile pattern will translate to a unique adult pattern? Also are hybrids possible within the genus or are they even distinguishable?
Edit: his belly is vermiculated so probably disjunctivus? I have some juveniles in another ...

Re: Gibbiceps?
Will do. He's got a round of parasite treatment to go. Once I fatten him up I'll grab better photos. I forgot about joselimaianus, we don't see them in my area a lot. He certainly looks similar.

Gibbiceps?
Found a striking looking juveniles gibbiceps I believe, just wanted a second opinion. No good dorsal shot but he has over 10 Ray's. Just looks like a super orange gibbi or something.

New loricaria/rineloricaria
Bought a fish labled "tiger striped whiptail" and I'm still not sure which species it is. This was the photo supplied by the seller, he's acclimating right now but it seems like the same fish. I'll get pics of the actual fish once he settles. Also, the seller says they get 4-5" long max received ...

Possibly a L001, can I get a second opinion?
Picked this dude out of the "common pleco" tank. They usually have a good mix of disjunctivus and pardalis. I believe this is a unique looking L001

I'm extremely confident after all these years that he's male but I'm grabbing some more adults soon so I figured I'd check with the experts.

Re: Black bumblebee catfish?
I was able to get a video and he's been properly id'd as Hemibagrus Wyckioides. I'm definitely paying for this choice but I'm going to be setting up a small pond for him indoors while I try and find him a home.

Black bumblebee catfish?
This guy came in with a shipment of similarly sized asian bumblebee's. He's impossibly tiny and hard to get a photo of. Initially I thought maybe a bullhead or channel but the more I stare the more he really just looks like my other bumblebee but her black. He's got long distinctly white whiskers ...

Got this dude when he was tiny and the kind folks here were thinking schoutedeni, I definitely agree but he does seem a bit different. Figured id post a pic of him now that hes grown. He doesn't hold still of course. Takes better vids

Re: Chaetostoma ID
Oh wow so theyll stay pretty small then?
My C. dorsale barely grew over the ~3 years, having acquired in at auction at ~4cm SL, it was ~5cm SL when it mysteriously passed away.
My C. formosae (which comes from same area as above in wild) has now been with me just over 4 years, bought at ~4cm ...
