Re: CHECK YOUR SPELLING BEFORE USING CLOG TAGS
It is what you use to make a normal catfish name, turn into a name that links to the catalog page. You type [clog]Corydoras acrensis[/clog], using any species name that is in the database, with BBcode enabled. I had to disable it or else it would turn into a link. You can copy+paste them from the bo...

Re: Weird Trichomycterid & Woodcat
According to fishbase it is Centromochlus simplex. Huh. PC entry needs to be changed then.

Re: Weird Trichomycterid & Woodcat
Unfortunately, much as I would also like it to be, the tatia simplex is not from an exporter. It is from a page covering an expedition to the Rio Xingu. :( It's a shame, they would go well with your Centromochlus concolor. http://natureplanet.blogspot.com/2012/10/6-anos-de-nature-planet-expedicao-vo...

Forgot to mention that the simplex is not from them, only the ituglanis.

Weird Trichomycterid & Woodcat
I found this odd trichomycterid catfish on a peruvian exporter's Facebook page, does anyone know what it is? https://scontent-a-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/v/t1.0-9/p180x540/541966_113055402162680_1929488190_n.jpg?oh=eb6030b5f7917ee8d51fef05186a27cc&oe=54FF436B Also, is this centromochlus conc...

Re: Fun little fish?
I think that one would probably be fine. I'm not sure about a pair. I've seen them go for between $40-$90. If you can find them, a pair of Pterobunocephalus dolichurus would probably be fine in that tank size. Usually listed as "Banjo white" on exporter lists. The amaralia are "Banjo ...

Re: Canero black?
I'm hoping for Myoglanis.
I don't think they will be big fish, because they are the same price as other small fish I ordered, and cheaper than the big fish that were also in the order.

Re: Canero black?
So… apparently the exporter has interpreted my request for a photo as a request for the species. The retailer just received the invoice for the order and sure enough, "CANERO BLACK" is right there. Well… he said they'll send a photo shortly, but it looks like I'll be providing a photo too,...

Re: Canero black?
Wait a minute. I believe I read the retailer's translation of the supplier's policies wrong. They said that If I ask for a photo of a fish that they do not have but CAN get, and they go out and get the fish to take a photo, I am expected to buy it. I'll ask for a photo of the "canero black"...

Re: Canero black?
I will be ordering some fish (with a retailer) from this supplier, should I take the risk and ask for some of these and hope that they are the peaceful heptapterid that they were in the other thread? I have the tank to house a group of small catfish, not a group of big hungry Cetopsis.

Canero black?
I saw a fish labeled as "canero black" on a peruvian supplier's list (no pics), does anyone know what it could be? I don't know of any black cetopsids.

I'm sorry, it's always hard to lose a fish that you've had for a long time. At least it isn't struggling anymore.

Why does PC now have the normal phpBB look? What happened to all the catfish? Not to mention that I can't even look at any catfish in the catelog! (says: "Fatal error: Class name must be a valid object or a string in /home/webcat/planetcatfish.com/common/site_specific.php on line 159") PC ...

Does anyone know of a good natural looking (not that pure white sterile looking stuff) freshwater sand? I can't really find any good ones, except maybe some stuff from caribsea.

Underwater photos
Does anyone have any underwater photos of the Rio Negro? I'm thinking of setting up a Negro biotope tank and would like it to be as accurate as possible.
