Baby plecos not eating!!! Now what?
I have around 65 Ancistrus triradiatus fry 4 days old and the yoke is gone yet they still will not feed on anything? Ive tried cucumber and soaked crushed flake. I'm not sure what to try next. Open to suggestions please.

Id needed on 3 corys. Please
This one I think is a Corydoras maculifer. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/ST6ARLINGTON/fish/th_DSCN0132.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/ST6ARLINGTON/fish/th_DSCN0137.jpg I think the one on the left is Corydoras paleatus, but uncertain. The one on the right maybe Corydoras melanotaen...

Re: Bought these as SAEs ... I don't think so.
I'm not positive but I think that your fish may be what I've always heard called a "false SAE". The gold line above the black line and the black line is smooth where it meets the gold line. In a true SAE the black line is rough and there is not a gold line at all. If I'm correct this fish(...

Re: Fungus and Corydoras Aeneus eggs
Thank you, Corybreed. I just found some Kordon's Methylene Blue at a lfs today. This stuff used to be found in all the local aquatic shops but it is not so easy to find now. Thank you for the tip, I'll give it a go.

Fungus and Corydoras Aeneus eggs
The last two spawns I've had have been rout with fungus. The First spawn occurred in my community tank. I removed as many as possible into a breeding net thing by trying to catch a female who was holding eggs in her fin pouch which she released into the fish net. I placed the net in the breeder net ...

First off I understand You all are discussing the diffrences between the two species and my comments are more related to my fish vs these two Ancistrus. If you feel my comments are not helpful feel free to delete my reply. I will not be upset if you do. I hope you all don't mind my adding to this th...

Re: Two questions...on behavior and an id please
After hours of studying pictures I've concluded that these specimens are , not Ancistrus triradiatus as previously though. Not sure if this matters but I figured I'd put it out there.

My Ancistrus triradiatus have spawned
I was in the process of doing a gravel clean and water change when I picked up a cave and the male would not come out. I looked in to see a large clutch of eggs. My Question is should I set up a ten gallon tank with water from the community tank they spawned in and move the cave and male to the newl...

Re: Two questions...on behavior and an id please
okay, I did a lot of reading and found the answers to the questions in my last reply. The 20gal long should be ok and the filter may suffice but I'll end up buying one just to be sure, and yes it would be a bad thing to allow these to co-mingle. When looking at them head on do they have a reddish sh...

Re: Two questions...on behavior and an id please
Just to be sure should I move these fish to their own tank to avoid any cross breeding that may occur with the common browns and the piebald? I think I should, just wanting confirmation. Also will a 20g long be sufficient? It would just be the three (2m/1f)A. triradiatus about 4 inches in length wit...

Re: Two questions...on behavior and an id please
Pretty sure that it is A. Triradiatus. Figured I'd post this image of one of two males that was purchased from the same group. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/ST6ARLINGTON/fish/DSC00087.jpg Here are more pics of the female. Re: Two questions...on behavior and an id please
You may be correct, it could well be A. Triradiatus. Especially as I also purchased 2 males from the same individual, and these two now that they have normal coloration and are not stressed, look like the male in the pics for the above mentioned species. I am only hesitant to say for certain because...

Re: Two questions...on behavior and an id please
Thank you for the info. Does anyone know if LDA016 comes from Colombia? The reason I ask is the person I bought this one from called the importer and confirmed that it is wild caught and from Colombia, region unknown. I have found this list http://lntreasures.com/colombiaff.html and I don't see LDA0...

Thank you Shane. Any Idea on what species it could be? It only has one or two bristles on the nose, none on the snout. I'll try to get some still pics of it.

In this video you'll see my male bn and a second pleco that I purchased today as a female bristlenose, sparing. I sure this is not bn but, if not what is it? male/female? I'm terrible at ids, so I won't even guess. Is the behavior a territorial dispute? http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/ST6ARLIN...

Missed the spawn and lost all.
Last night the wife and I went to see Act of Valor at the theater and when we came home I looked in my 100gal community tank and noticed the glass was covered in little white empty sac looking things. Approximately 75 or so eggs had been placed by my group of 7 Corydoras Aeneas and subsequently eate...

Breeding common browns with Piebald?
I currently have 1 male piebald in the same tank with 1 confirmed common brown female. Would this be considered "wrong" to allow them breed? Would the offspring be mostly brown commons? My understanding is that the piebald is a man breed variety, not a separate species or is that understan...

Re: Help with id..please.
okay, that's what I was thinking, but could it be L110 or are they the same? Below is a photo from just a few minutes ago and the orange color is gone and he looks all black. Do all commons have a chameleon ability?

Can anyone id this fellow for me? I'm thinking Ancistrus cf. cirrhosus , but I'm fairly new to plecos. sorry for the poor images. The last one or two are of him stressed from being just placed in the tank so the coloration and pattern is not normal. Any help would be appreciated. http://i7.photobuck...

Re: LDA025 looking ill, need advise please
Well here is an update for those who maybe interested. I didn't treat for parasites as a few have suggested because I had no tank set up for use as a hospital, and lacked the equipment to do so. No heater or filter. The tank it is housed in contains shrimp and out of fear of killing them I opted not...

Re: LDA025 looking ill, need advise please
Thank you all for the replies. No I haven't seen it feed, well maybe a little on the glass, but it is always on the glass. Usually just sitting there. The other one is always eating. He was purchased in that condition. The nitrate test was done with the drops from my master freshwater kit. It is a h...
