Re: REPASHY, i keep seeing this pop up
I use Repashy in my rotation and think it is an excellent product. For medicating and acclimating new arrivals to prepared foods IMO it can't be beat. Soilent Green with garlic extract added has been a savior for many finicky wild caught suckermouths in my fish room.

My L134 have alwasy preferred Plecocaves.com 1.5" "Euro" caves. They are so tight on the adults one worries they are stuck.

Different colored mud from the same bucket, Lot's of beautiful natural fish exist, why separate the mud and ignore one of the biggest oceans of fresh water?

Re: L134 Leopard frogs
Were these adults when you got them?
If these were juvies I would say they likely have some maturing to do. 24-36 months seems to reach maturity with average care is what I've been seeing. though lots of good clean fresh water and heavy feedings can accelerate this considerably.

Surprisingly high fry count for a hypan, is it possible two females spawned with that male?

I'm currently working on a talk, and want spend a few frames stressing the importance identification and location separation. I'm hoping to find some side by side pics of mimics and regularly confused and preferably commonly available fish to use as examples. I will gladly give photo credit if used....

Re: Hypancistrus zebra?
And regarding those 15 queens, how many different females were involved- I presume at least a different one for each clutch the male was on all at one time. That is still genetic diversity. smile1 Somewhat, but all the offspring share the same father. If I was to split the group into five trios and...

Re: Hypancistrus zebra?
Just my 2 cents on the issue. I have always used groups or colonies. For me this means at least 7 fish and as many as about 15. I do this for a few reasons. 3. It should foster greater genetic diversity. This assumes you have genetically diverse stock. In my experience this could go either way depe...

Is that not what the impromptu meetings were in the meeting place they had set out...the one that also supplied beers on a regular basis in the middle of the hotel...there is a lot of talk done in this way. Yes, but if it were done as a part of a regular session, more attendees would get to hear it...

L180 has me confused
In part of a trade deal I picked up some Juvie L180. I've already had some and have been breeding them, so figured I'll either grow the new ones out or sell them. Their is considerable difference between what I had and what I just got. The fish to the left is the new fish, stressed, generally blacke...

Re: Breeding tank size
With corys I find experimenting with group size and tank size helpful, every group seems to behave slightly different. For example I have a group of blacks that will only spawn in a pair, if additional fish are added they shut off, so I've moved them to a 5 gallon to better utilize space. Additional...

Gossei, Seussi, Adolfoi, B. Splendens would all be ok.
S. barbatus is a absolute no.
I'd avoid metae also. I don't know much about CW051.

I truly believe one cannot change too much water. Yes I'm sure their are exceptions for instance fish that come from stagnant waters. I change all my tanks 50-60% twice weekly or more depending on stock levels and feedings.
