'2 inches in 60 inches' that is some slope, you say the tank is going to be on a cabinet, is this tank going to be indoors and a piece of furniture to be admired? if so correct the slope on the base of the cabinet making sure the horizonal lines, doors top, etc. are just that 'horizonal ...

Just to say I'll be there, booked in for the Smithsonian as well, and the ideas that have been suggested so far are all excellent and will add to what is going to be a great convention, I should be able to add to the photo's along with a mate from Atlanta who is also booked in.

I brought some dwarf pleco's this weekend and put them in the tank indoors, lot easier to do some serious veiwing, they were all over the tank to start with racing through the output current from the power filter then as they settled down I put in some of Tetra waffers whcih remained ...

My first catfish was a C.aeneus yes a single fish, but it was many years ago long before catfish study groups and the internet and i did not know better.

what got me into Catfish was a raffle at one of the big London Tropical fish exhibitions where I won a synodontis and joined the Catfish ...

I've probably started a new CSG (UK) project, I sit here with a hydrophone next to me ready to go, I'll let you know more as I progess, it should make intersting rading in Cat Chat if anyone can tell me how to convert a .wav file to text.

More success with the pellets, fed them to a group of C.barbatus that I brought last week, all pellets gone in the morning, fed a number of pellets to the other cats (and some cichlids) and they all went the same way, will try some observed feeding behaviour this weekend.

Another of the projects that was suggested was listening to your catfish Jon mentioned that they are quite 'vocal' anyone interested in this as a project?

This could be an interesting study for a few members to get involved with get some archive material on the web site.

You've made a good point here, if we don't give the feedback, they probably won't give the feed!

One of the speakers at the Convention (Dr Peter Burgess) asked 'How long do catfish live?' and said this would be a good one for the members to help with.
