Re: Panaque titan L418 or L191?

It would seem pointless to me to try and pass of L-418 as L-191 as L-191's are not that expensive via wholesale. Any dealings I have had with Charles have always been straight up.

Re: Question about L-199

Well after 4 days the male let the female out but no eggs were in the cave .Yesterday he had a female trapped in his cave again and this morning he is tending a cluster of eggs. Now I will have to wait and see if they hatch in the liquid rock that comes out of my well.

Question about L-199

I have 14 hypancistrus furunculus in a 90 gal tank. For 2 days now one of the males has had a female ( I think ) trapped in his cave. So I'm debating whether to carry out the tanks regular water change and clean-up today or do nothing in case I disturb them ?

Got a bunch of these little rangers in last week labeled as Pterygoplichthys weberi. I have searched but can't find much about about their dietary needs and general care. Also can't seem to find an L number for them-- any help would be appreciated http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff254/jorgsfinish...

Re: Sick Sultans

Thanks Barbie, I was thinking the white marks were the result of squabbling also as the tank they are in is a bit small for them but it seems the white glaze has spread over the eyes of one of them so I think some kind of medication might be necessary. I will remove the 2 L48's that they seem to hav...

Sick Sultans

I have 8 L264's (Sultans) That I have been keeping for about 3-4 months. Two of them have developed a white film on their skin that seems to be getting worse. They are eating well and seem ok otherwise. Any recommendations for treatment would be appreciated. http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff254/...

Re: Need advice on which species to try breeding

I'm not worried about failure or disappointment. I just want to work with the easiest species that I have available right now. I'm aware it could be a long term project but it doesn't matter as I'm only interested in learning from the experience. The L-199's and L-134's are near or at adult size alr...

Re: Need advice on which species to try breeding

I'm kinda leaning towards the 199's or the 134's but would prefer to try the easiest species first. Tank space is not a problem. I believe the 200's are H.subviridis http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff254/jorgsfinishing/054.jpg Here is a bad pic of a 244 I think we have around 15-20 of these http:...

Re: Acclimating new Pecos

My gut feeling has always been that using the bag water/fresh water mixture is a waste of time, but I am always worried about the rapid change from the foul water to the fresh water shocking them and stressing them out even more. I don't use the drip method I should not have said I slowly change to ...

Acclimating new Pecos

Hi everyone. I have been researching this site and have found it very helpful. I am getting a shipment of Brazilian Pecos in later this week and have a few questions. Our last shipment from Brazil the Pecos were packed one to a bag and most of the bags were decompressed. The one fish to a bag was a ...
