Cetopsis coecutiens SE / London

Hi all,

A friend of mine is after some Blue Whale Catfish (Cetopsis coecutiens) - if anybody knows of some of these for sale if they could pass the message on that would be great.

Cheers!

Re: Reluctantly getting rid of all my fish... Bargains to be

Hi Mats, sorry to hear - though I'm glad your able to retain (some of?) your fish.
Are you able to keep all of your fish or are you still having to sell some of them (and if so, which)? (I'm sorry, I couldn't think of a better way to put the question).

Thanks

2 synos, 3 plecs & a Cory

Hi, I apologize in advance in that I am unable to directly load images, as the image link to imageshack says that it cant determine the image size. Anyhow, here are the links - much appreciation for helping. Sorry for the poor pics. Harry 1) Black Lancer or a syno? http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/753...

Re: Black Lancer price

I went back in today, and am not 100% sure its a Lancer - maybe some kind of Syno. By the sounds of things they're contemplating £85 (if it is a Black Lancer), but theres been a lot of interest so not sure if that figure will rise. Does that sound a reasonable price? Anyhow, heres the pics (i cant s...

Re: Looking for A Black Lancer

I doubt it will be of any use to you, but we have a fully gorwn, probably female, black lancer in the LFS in south east england - no price on it as of yet though, if you were interested. Good luck with the breeding - it won't be easy but should make for a great project.

I'm not sure the tail is the right shape for an L191, and like you i cant seem to think of anything with a spotted dorsal fin. I'll have a think and get back to you in the morning if i can come up with anything.

Re: What to get for Christmas?

I've thought about Dianema - lovely fish - but I haven't seen them in my area before. Maybe the LFS could order some in for me. My Corys are kept in a semi-planted tank on sand, and ive had some of them for at least 3 years, and they were nearly fully grown when i got them. I think I'll ask the LFS ...

What to get for Christmas?

For my Christmas present this year I am allowed to get a/some new catfish. At the moment I have 2 Panaque maccus , a Hemiloricaria parva , a Hypancistrus inspector and 5 very old Corydoras aeneus . I've thought about either Banjos, Scleromystax barbatus or a Sturisoma or Farlowella. However, I'd qui...

Bleeding Heart Tetra spawning?

Hi,

For the first time today my Bleeding Heart Tetras spawned, but in 36 hours I go away for two weeks. What can I do to give the eggs/fry the best chance of survival until I return?

Thanks in advance,

Farlowella acus help, please

Hi, I'm thinking about purchasing a pair of Farlowella vittata cucumber every week. The other cats they'd be in with are Panaque maccus , Hemiancistrus guahiborum and Corydoras aeneus . pH ranges between 5 and 6, temp around 25oc. Would they be OK in this environment with this feeding? If not, how w...

Re: Juvie S barbatus

I think I read somewhere that the FULL stripe in the males isn't evident until their first attempt to breed, but a fainter one is evident upon reaching sexual maturity, or around 6cm TL. (I'm assuming this is the Rio de Janero variety). I'm not totally sure on the information, but I seem to remember...

Re: Brown algae eaters?

its more of a flat type algae - I've had ancistrus before and they were great with the green algae, but they seemed to leave all the brown algae. Are there any species of ancistrus that are better than others with the brown algae?

Thanks

Hi, I'm thinking about getting a shoal of Otocinclus, as in the last month I've had a bloom of brown algae. The current "workforce" are a shoal of Corydoras aeneus, a pair of Panaque maccus and a Hemiancistrus guahiborum. Are there any better fish for the brown algae that are commonly avai...

I'm really sorry to hear that...slightly off track, but what treatment did you use for the whitespot? - the common one (malachite green) is poisonous to all scaleless fish, so maybe that was why you lost the C. perugaie?
