Re: Centromochlus perugiae

Sounds like an ideal set-up for the perugiae. They will not be out competed for food as the perugiae's preferred feeding zone is the surface of the tank. Initially they will be shy so you may have to feed them after the lights have gone out. They love frozen bloodworms, frozen glassworms, and proba...

Centromochlus perugiae

Could a pair or small group depending on whats best be kept in a 36x12x18" tank along with 6 Laetacara dorsigera (hoping for a pair so once they have formed 4 will be getting rehomed) and 3 Bunocephalus coracoideus. The tank has loads of twisting branches one end and 4 coconut cave hidden among...

Re: Megalechis growth rate

Thats alright then, at the moment there a very skinny 2" but i put a load of bloodworms in a minute ago and they disappeared in seconds so atleast they have a good appitie on them. This tank has a lot of water movments thats why i was wondering because then they get to breeding size i could rem...

Megalechis growth rate

I got 8 Megalechis thoracata the other day, there about 2" now and i was just wondering how long it is likely to take for them to get to 4-5". Theres no importance to it i was just wondering since there seems tp be quite a big vary in the growth rate on variouse care sheets. Also what sort...

Re: Baryancistrus beggini prices?

Fair enough, ideally i would love a group but this is the only one ive ever seen. It shouldnt have any problems in with Laetacara curviceps, Megalechis thoracata and Bunocephalus coracoideus should it?

Akysis eating snails?

I noticed a few weeks back all 6 of my Akysis where looking quite a bit on the chubby side so i cut down from a cube of frozen food every other day to half every other day for 2 weeks but they still looked huge and since it was all 6 of them i dont think its eggs and all seem perfectly healthy so i ...

Re: Centromochlus perugiae

Is there a branch of MA near you? They get them in fairly often. You shouldn't have a problem getting them as they sell pretty well and there are a few places near me that have had them recently so they should be available from a wholesaler to a local retailer. Theres one in Cambridge but thats sti...

Re: Centromochlus perugiae

T. intermedia gets almost 3 times bigger than C perugiae. Both species are nice and when given proper care will easily live for 6 years or more. I think perugiae will fit your tank better due to its size. And of course I'm sure you will enjoy them a lot. Thank, ill go for them then, Just need to fi...

Centromochlus perugiae

Would you recommend them? Im trying to work out what to do with my 30G and noticed these in wildwoods for £11 each. Does that seem like a fair price? and how many should i get? Ive seen people pic of them on here a few times and always thought they where great looking but never seen any around before.

Why not swap for some new ones? Some shops will do this, especially if you buy a few dry goods at the same time. Alternatively they may give you store credit. It does help if you are a regular. Re: 30G Asian Biotope

I would stick to the Akysis , plus maybe the Hara too. The rest, as Silurus said, are best left out - they get too big and like acid water. You could brighten up the tank with, for example, a few gentle barbs or danios ( Puntius gelius , Danio tinwini ) or maybe some Badis or Dario for extra intere...

Re: 30G Asian Biotope

Mystus bimaculatus are happiest with a blackwater biotope, and the Pseudomystus will most likely eat the Akysis when they (the Pseudomystus) grow large enough. Fair enough ill stay away from both of them then. Any ideas on something that could work that wont bury its self for most of the day like A...
